Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Plumbing Designer to join our dynamic design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing plumbing design support for a wide range of projects, ensuring that designs adhere to industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed plumbing designs for new construction and renovation projects, including flow calculations, water demand calculations, equipment selection, and piping layouts.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to assess project requirements and develop effective plumbing solutions that meet performance and energy efficiency goals.
- Prepare and review plumbing design calculations, specifications, and construction documents, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Utilize design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or other plumbing design tools) to produce high-quality drawings and documentation.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure design implementation aligns with specifications and to assist in resolving any on-site issues.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in plumbing design and energy efficiency.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on design progress and timelines.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals and presentations for clients.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is perferred.
- 3 years of experience in plumbing design, preferably within an MEP design firm.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant engineering tools.
- Strong understanding of plumbing codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IPC, NFPA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., EIT, PE license, LEED accreditation) are a plus but not required.
